Fever

Posted in Chiropractic,Community,Disease,Tips for a better life by tricountychiropractors on November 21, 2011

Fever is the body’s natural defense to an illness. Some people think that when someone has a fever to immediately try to bring it down. This is not necessarily the case. The body uses many defenses to try to rid itself of potential threats such as bacteria, viruses, etc. Heat is one of these defenses. By increasing heat your body is trying to destroy the foreign bodies. So if you bring down a fever that isn’t potentially harmful, then you are actually suppressing your body’s own immune system. But if you stay healthy by staying adjusted and keeping the nerve interference out of your nervous system you are going to have a better immune system and you will be able to deal with those bad bacteria or viruses quicker and more efficiently thereby keeping your fevers to a minimum and keeping them down where there is no potential for harm. So stay adjusted and stay healthy this season.

Ear Infections

Ear infections. All too common an ailment for young people and even some adults. They can be caused by bacteria or viruses. And other than growing a culture which can take up to 48 hours you can’t tell which is the culprit. But there is good news. Chiropractic works with your body to help heal the infection no matter which is causing it. Chiropractic boosts the immune system making your body stronger to fight off any infection. Chiropractic also removes interference to the nerves that may be supplying the sinuses as well as the ears with their signals from the brain. Without interference the nerves can communicate better with these parts of the body letting them work the way they should in order to correct the problem and help the body normalize again. This may mean that the ears will drain better or that the sinuses will become less inflammed. Either way your body already knows how to combat an ear infection, chiropractic lets it do this naturally without interference. This not only makes your body stronger, but it keeps you from putting toxins in your body that can cause more harm than good such as drugs and medicines. So give your body a chance to be natural and healthy, try chiropractic for those ear infections.

Indigestion

Do you or anyone you know suffer from indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux? Well did you know that your esophageal muscles that are causing that spasm that gives you that burn in your chest are controlled by nerves. Even more they are controlled by nerves that start in your spinal cord which runs through your spine. When the nerves that go to your esophagus have interference due to subluxations in your spine then those muscles in your esophagus may not work like they are supposed to and these spasms may be the result. By clearing the interference with specific chiropractic adjustments these nerves can start functioning properly and those muscles can start functioning properly as well. If there is no cause for your muscles to spasm then they won’t and the indigestion will stop. So, don’t you owe it to yourself or someone you know who suffers with indigestion to try chiropractic? Your esophagus will thank you.

Type 2 Diabetes is Curable in Nearly Everyone Without Drugs!!

Posted in Chiropractic,Community,Disease,Healthy food,Tips for a better life by tricountychiropractors on November 2, 2011

If one is compliant with these recommendations the likelihood of successfully going off of drugs and having normal blood sugars is close to 100%. Treating type 2 diabetes is simply a matter of implementing some basic strategies to improve your insulin and leptin resistance. First, you must exercise. Without exercise you are very unlikely to get this devastating disease under control. In the beginning though you will need large amounts of exercise maybe even up to one or two hours a day. And you would always want to work your way up to this amount gradually based on your current level of fitness. Next is eliminate grains and sugars. For the last 50 years, many have been following the nutritional recommendations dictated by conventional health agencies, which advise a complex carbohydrate and low saturated fat diet. The end result has been a 700% increase in diabetes in those years. So instead you’ll want to eliminate foods that your body will react to by creating insulin, which includes all types of sugars and grains, even “healthy grains” such as whole organic grains. You may even need to avoid fruits until your blood sugar is under control. Although avioding fruits is typically not necessary. Each individual will need to determine this. These are the 2 basic guidelines that you can follow to beat this devastating disease. And of course, chiropractic care can help you achieve better health along this journey.

The Future of Disease Prevention May Not Depend On Your Genes But Upon Ways To Turn Them On and Off

The new field of epigenetics has shown that the choice of which of your genes are “expressed,” or activated, is strongly affected by environmental influences. This means that expression of your genes can change, and they are influenced by external factors. One implication of this is that many health problems-ranging from cancer to cardiovascular disease to neurological disorders-can be caused at least in part by altered “histone modifications,” which affect DNA. According to Eurekalert, “The good news…. is that ‘HDAC inhibitors’ can stop this degenerative process, and some of them have already been identified in common foods. Examples include sulforaphane in broccoli, indole-3-carbinol in cruciferous vegetables, and organosulfur compounds in vegetables like garlic and onions”.

What Is Chiropractic?

Posted in Chiropractic,Disease,Healthy food,Tips for a better life by tricountychiropractors on October 12, 2011

Many people are confused about what chiropractic is, because it is not only a technology, science and an art, but also a way of thinking. With today’s health care problems at their peak, chiropractors are willing to think outside the realm of common thought so that better, safer, more natural solutions can be created. For example, most people believe that illness begins when a germ outside your body somehow runs into you and gets inside. The only solution is to bombard those bugs with a lot of drugs. That one-size-fits-all scenario doesn’t fit all the time, however. How about this. Remember the last time you walked past a dirty dumpster? Every time you see a dirty dumpster what comes to mind: rats, roaches, raccoons and many bugs. These pests always gravitate to the dirty dumpster, not a clean one. Why? It’s likely that the dirty trashcan has the food those pests need to survive. If you took the time to put out a clean trashcan and kept it clean every single day, the vermin and bugs would never show up, because there is nothing to eat there. Simply put, the reason many of us get sick is because our body is a dirty trashcan. For years, we have been taught that sickness starts with germs and bacteria, viruses and any type of micro bacterial invasion. Later, the presence of these bacteria and viruses create illnesses that develop in our bodies. This thought came about in the late 1800s when the world-famous Louis Pasteur developed his germ theory. His whole theory was based on germs attacking the body. Then along came Robert Koch who believed that it was the healthiness of the body-not germs- that determined whether the bacterial virus would show up or could even stay alive in the environment. This concept is very similar to the image of the dirty trashcan. If you keep your trashcan clean, the varmints never show up. If you keep your body healthy and clean, diseases never show up either. So, if you think about it, a healthy body is a clean trashcan.

Strep Throat

It’s getting to be that time of year again, when people start to stay indoors together and share more of their germs with one another and that always lead to more colds, more flu, and more sore throats. But the good news is that the healthier your immune system is the less likely you will succumb to these germs. Strep throat is a big one. It can take you out for days, but keep your spine aligned and this naturally boosts your own immune system so that it can better fight off the bacteria or virus that is causing the illness. By removing subluxations in your spine the body as a whole works better and the signals to EVERY part of the body get through free and clear of any interference. Including your immune system. This way the immune responses in an aligned healthy body react faster and more appropiately to the threat of the germ. Remember it is much easier to keep a healthy body healthy than it is to bring an unhealthy body back to health. So get checked by your chiropractor today before cold and flu and strep throat season hit.

Broccoli Component Limits Breast Cancer Stem Cells

Posted in Disease by tricountychiropractors on October 7, 2011

Sulforaphane, a compound found in broccoli, could help treat breast cancer by targeting cancer stem cells, which fuel the growth of tumors. Sulforaphane was tested in both mice and cell cultures. It targeted and killed the cancer stem cells and prevented new tumors from growing. Science Daily reports: “Current chemotherapies do not work against cancer stem cells, which is why cancer recurs and spreads. Researchers believe that eliminating the cancer stem cells is key to controlling cancer.”

Immune Function

Posted in Chiropractic,Disease,Signs and symptoms of nerve interference,Tips for a better life by tricountychiropractors on September 19, 2011

Everyone is always looking for a way to boost their immune function, especially when they know that winter is just around the corner and people are going to start hanging out inside and sharing their germs more frequently. So there are the doctors visits, the flu shots, the over the counter medicines, etc. But what if you could do something for your body year round that would boost your immune system so that when winter came around you were already prepared? Would you want to try that? Would you want to be healthy in all of your body systems not just your immune system? Then try chiropractic. Chiropractic works mainly with your nervous system and your nervous system is what makes every other system run in your body. If your nervous system is not running correctly then doesn’t it make sense that other systems in your body could not be working properly, like your immune system? Well, that’s the wonderful thing about chiropractic. By keeping your nervous system running at its highest capacity, you are helping every system in your body, including your immune system, work at its highest capacity as well, creating a healthier you.
