Ear Infections

Ear infections. All too common an ailment for young people and even some adults. They can be caused by bacteria or viruses. And other than growing a culture which can take up to 48 hours you can’t tell which is the culprit. But there is good news. Chiropractic works with your body to help heal the infection no matter which is causing it. Chiropractic boosts the immune system making your body stronger to fight off any infection. Chiropractic also removes interference to the nerves that may be supplying the sinuses as well as the ears with their signals from the brain. Without interference the nerves can communicate better with these parts of the body letting them work the way they should in order to correct the problem and help the body normalize again. This may mean that the ears will drain better or that the sinuses will become less inflammed. Either way your body already knows how to combat an ear infection, chiropractic lets it do this naturally without interference. This not only makes your body stronger, but it keeps you from putting toxins in your body that can cause more harm than good such as drugs and medicines. So give your body a chance to be natural and healthy, try chiropractic for those ear infections.

Tantrums

When a mother was experiencing tantrums with one of her 2 and a half year old twins she took him to the pediatrician. He said it was perfectly normal but at the “extreme” end of the spectrum. His mother wasn’t satisfied. She felt he was uncomfortable in some way. The tantrums would last up to an hour and were as often as five or six a day and many times he would even hurt himself. Sometimes he would even repeat, “help me help me.” What’s worse is his communication skills were regressing and he usually preferred to be alone. He was on a special diet and everything but the behavior was taking its toll on the entire family. The mother finally convinced the father to let her take him to a chiropractor. She had been under care her whole life, but the father was opposed to chiropractic treatment for children. Under steady care the tantrums lessened in intensity immediately. And after five short weeks the results were nothing short of miraculous. The tantrums last maybe 5-10 minutes. And many times Zachary seemed to be fighting for control and would more often than not win! His communication skills were back to normal for his age and he no longer feels the need to isolate himself becoming affectionate again. Although some people may be skeptical and say he just grew out of it, the mother says that the changes were just too quick for that and it coinsided perfectly with his visits to the chiropractor. She states that,”I must admit myself the improvements are more than I expected, but all I could have hoped for.”

Indigestion

Do you or anyone you know suffer from indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux? Well did you know that your esophageal muscles that are causing that spasm that gives you that burn in your chest are controlled by nerves. Even more they are controlled by nerves that start in your spinal cord which runs through your spine. When the nerves that go to your esophagus have interference due to subluxations in your spine then those muscles in your esophagus may not work like they are supposed to and these spasms may be the result. By clearing the interference with specific chiropractic adjustments these nerves can start functioning properly and those muscles can start functioning properly as well. If there is no cause for your muscles to spasm then they won’t and the indigestion will stop. So, don’t you owe it to yourself or someone you know who suffers with indigestion to try chiropractic? Your esophagus will thank you.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Many people suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome without knowing that chiropractic can help. They even go so far as to have surgery on their wrists and even that approach may help for a little while but the problem and the pain eventually come back. The nerves that travel down to your hands come from your neck and if there is interference to those nerves in the neck it can cause pain and symptoms all the way down to the hands in any given area including wrist pain. Interference is most commonly caused by subluxations and chiropractors specialize in removing subluxations from the spine. Chiropractors can also adjust any joint that is in the body, including wrists. So if the problem is in tht wrist then we can address the bones of the wrist appropriately and open up that carpal tunnel and remove any interference to the nerve at that point in the arm. If you or anyone you know has carpal tunnel syndrome send them in and lets see what chiropractic can do for them! Would life without pain be a fantastic thing? It can be a reality with chiropractic!

Migraine Headaches

Having a misalignment in the upper part of your neck can and often does lead to headaches or even migraines. These subluxations can affect the function of the brainstem causing these migraines and can be caused by many different stressors in everyday life. Upper cervical doctors receive extensive training and education in both the upper cervical spine and brainstem. The goal of these doctors is to correct spinal misalignments and restore normal function to the brainstem or nervous system, thus correcting the cause of the migraines instead of only the symptoms.

Everyone knows how important nutrition is, after all, we are constantly reminded by our doctors, friends, family, and now more than ever the media. So eat your veggies and fruits right? Well, sometimes its not that easy. Nutrition is so important to a healthy lifestyle, but what about absorbtion of those nutrients once ingested? It is equally important to make sure that our bodies absorb the nutrients we feed them. And it is equally important to make sure that the digestion of our food is complete and we have proper exiting of those foods. So how do you get proper digestion? By making sure your digestive system is working properly all the time. The digestive system, like all other systems is supplied by the nervous system that keeps it functioning. When the nerves that go to the digestive system have pressure on them due to subluxations in the spine, it can affect the digestive system and in turn digestion may not work as well. By making sure that the spine is free of interference, all systems of the body can work properly and proper digestion can occur. So feed your body healthy foods and visit your chiropractor today to make sure you are getting as much out of it as you can.

Chiropractic Care Naturally Treats Colic

Posted in Chiropractic,Signs and symptoms of nerve interference,Tips for a better life by tricountychiropractors on October 21, 2011

Infantile colic is defined as inconsolable crying in an infant for at least 3 hours straight, at least 3 days a week, for at least 3 weeks. A colicky baby usually presents with a loud piercing cry, flexed legs, tense abdominal muscles, and clenched fingers. It can start as early as 3 weeks of age up to 3 months and sometimes even up to 6 months of age. Approximately 10-20% of babies are affected by colic. Doctors diagnose is based of ruling out other reasons the baby may be crying and by the “Rule of 3″ mentioned above. The good news…chiropractic care has been shown to significantly benefit colicky babies. One study showed a 94% decrease in crying in 316 children who were under chiropractic care. Another study compared chiropractic care to dimethicone, a common gas medication. The chiropractic group showed a 67% decrease in crying while the medication group only showed a 38% decrease in crying. There is no known cause for colic, but chiropractic has been shown to be an effective way to relieve the symptoms of colic. If you or anyone you know is dealing with a colicky baby, please find a chiropractor in your area and see what chiropractic can do for you.

Deafness

Many people have hearing loss and to varying degrees. But did you know that the nerves that take signals to and from the brain to be interpreted when our ears “hear” something come from our spinal cord. Did you know that if those nerves have pressure on them the result could be some degree of deafness. Now, did you know that chiropractic was discovered when D.D. Palmer adjusted a man that had lost his hearing. And did you know that after that adjustment his hearing returned? The nerve supply is that important and can affect so many things, including our ability to hear. Now if you suffer from hearing loss would it be worth it to you to see if the problem you are experiencing is coming from your nerves? There are conditions that stem from other problem in the actual ear itself, but even those things have a nerve supply and you should give yourself the best chance you can at performing at your top level. See your chiropractor today and start hearing better!

Bad Posture Equals Bad Health

Posted in Chiropractic,Signs and symptoms of nerve interference,Tips for a better life by tricountychiropractors on September 30, 2011

Bad posture is a modern day health epidemic that is much worse than most people naturally assume. Posture is the window into your spine. The spine has a powerful relationship with the brain, spinal cord, and overall organ function. This intimate connection means that poor posture and spinal health will lead to an overall decrease in brain and organ function. Nobel Prize recipient Dr. Roger Sperry says that the spine is the motor that drives the brain. One of the worse types of health problems people experience is a loss of the natural curves of their spine. Ideally, we should have 40-45 degree curve in our neck that many chiropractors and neurosurgeons refer to as “the arc of life.” This curve helps to protect the brainstem and the spinal canal for the spinal cord and nerves the travel to every region of our body. Some chiropractors specialize in corrective care techniques that restore the natural curves of the body. This is done through gentle and specific adjustments that take pressure off of the brainstem and nerve pathways and enhance function to the body. Studies have shown that corrective based chiropractic care effectively reduces forward head posture and enhances the arc of life. A 2009 study by Morningstar and Jockers showed that this corrective process dramatically enhances lung function. As the respiration process improves more oxygen gets into the body. This improves blood flow into every organ system of the body dramatically improving overall function.
